Panayotis Tournikiotis

Architect

Panayotis Tournikiotis is a professor of Architectural Theory at the National Technical University of Athens, School of Architecture. He was born in 1955 in Athens. He has studied architecture, town planning, geography and philosophy in Athens and Paris.

His research focuses on how understanding of the past may contribute to the interdisciplinary establishment of design strategies in architecture and town planning. He has authored and edited many books in five languages. He has been active as a curator in architectural events and contributes as member of the board in a number of institutions. His recent work explores the reinvention of the city centre in metropolitan Athens.

Since 2012 he is a scientific consultant in the implementation of the Re-think Athens project.
