Yiannis Batas, Michalis Taliakis

Students, My Pharmacy app creators

Yiannis and Michalis are senior high school students and creators of “My Pharmacy”, a mobile app that helps to better manage our medicine cabinet at home and to build a national network for collecting and distributing medicine to socially sensitive groups.

At the beginning of this year, the two men took part in the “Virtual Business” educational program held by the SEN / Junior Achievement Greece with their entry “My Pharmacy”, where they were the leading executives (President and Production Manager) of the ΕΤ.Ε.Κ. company created by students from the Costeas-Geitonas School.

Following the national distinction of the ΕΤ.Ε.Κ. company, they were asked to represent Greece at the “JA-YE Europe Trade Fair 2013” international competition in Riga, Latvia, where they won the “Social Responsible Business Award”.

Their participation in the top youth entrepreneurial competition gave them the opportunity, among other things, to get to know how businesses operate and to discover and develop their personal skills.

Currently, they are working on the evolution of “My pharmacy”, aiming at introducing new features and facilitating the collection of medicine. In the future, they want to engage in project management and programming, while they are considering founding a company whose basic mission will be to create applications and technology services that will make citizens’ lives easier and will be run by people with innovative ideas and a vision for the future.
